FOR OUR TRANS HEALTH ORGANIZING PROJECT
Who are we?
SPARK Reproductive Justice NOW collaborates with individuals, communities and organizations to grow and sustain a powerful reproductive justice movement in Georgia.
We do this by:
- Developing and sharing a radical analysis in order to change culture
- Mobilize in response to immediate threats and;
- Organize for long-term systemic change.
Trans Health Organizing Project
This project is devoted to elevating the visibility of the trans community particularly in the reproductive justice movement in the South and developing resources to address prevailing health inequalities, accessibility and affordability and ensure reproductive health care is delivered in away the meets the needs and concerns of the trans community.
Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative, technical and research support for our Trans Health Organizing Project
• Evaluate, analyze and develop an analysis of trans health in Georgia for the Georgia Reproductive
Justice Access Guide.
Work with the members of the trans organizing health project to develop a tran health advocacy plan of action.
Conduct outreach to the trans and cis gender communities to build a trans health organizing initiative and working group
Qualifications:
• Commitment to realizing reproductive justice in Georgia and the South
• Demonstrated commitment to anti-oppression work and building a trans health organizing project
• Ability to take initiative, work independently and prioritize work
• Experience working in a cross-cultural environment
• Enthusiasm, sense of humor and positive attitude
• Ability to communicate effectively and strong written and oral communication skills
• Possess a computer and thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and database programs
