Biography
LAWRENCE WASHINGTON first appeared on the national stage as Sheree Whitfield’s confidante and hairstylist on Bravo’s hit reality show, Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA).
Trained at The Paul Mitchell Institute, Lawrence has built a solid reputation as the go-to stylist for clients like Kenya Moore, Jennifer Holiday, Ciara, Serena Williams, Elise Neal and Miss Whitfield. Utilizing his talents as a hair stylist and his newfound TV following, Lawrence opened his first self-titled salon in Buckhead, Georgia.
However, it is his gender-bending style and his fearless tenacity that not only developed Lawrence a core following from the show but also gave him the drive and conviction to release his first recorded single on ITunes entitled “Closet Freak”. Debuting his big gay roaring voice for the first time, his single managed to climb the dance charts in its first week to the top ten coming in at #5.
It was only natural that Lawrence became a mainstay on the popular TV series RHOA where his quick wit and boisterous humor played well to their audience. Bravo continued to bring Lawrence back as a recurring character and now, in its fourth season, The Real Housewives of Atlanta will follow him in his breakout role as he begins his foray into his new career as a recording artist.
Lawrence Washington is a notable member of the Atlanta social circuit, as his photos regularly appear on the social pages of magazines. Impeccably dressed and always balancing just the right mix of style, always toting heels; Lawrence has captured the attention of a huge fan base and the interest of all the gossip blogs. Since the release of his single, the song and Lawrence have been consistently featured on some of the biggest radio stations in the country.
Noticed by Steve Harvey and the Steve Harvey show producers while they watched a TV Marathon of RHOA, Lawrence was asked to join their TV show line up of talent. Lawrence joined the cast of The Steve Harvey Project on Monday March 7th 2011. Miss Lawrence hosts the segment titled “Spilling the Tea with Miss Lawrence”, providing reviews of the latest headlines in celebrity news/music/entertainment, red carpet reviews and fashion/beauty critiques. Becoming an on-air personality with Steve Harvey adds to Lawrence’s resume yet another media platform allowing him greater connection to his fan base. After getting to know him even more personally here, there is no doubt they will love him that much more.
Lawrence Washington is residing and working in Atlanta, Georgia, where can be found running his salon, styling celebrity clients, hosting fashion events at Macy’s, taping the Real Housewives of Atlanta, and singing his heart out in the studio. He is preparing a portfolio of music to be released late this fall.
