Members of the Year

AJ Jones

AJ is an advocate for the rights of all oppressed peoples.  Having worked on a variety of social justice issues, amongst them LGBTQ rights, reproductive justice, and worker’s rights, he is currently an active member leader with SPARK Reproductive Justice NOW and serves as an officer with the support group Trans(forming). AJ’s passion lies in working on behalf of our most vulnerable community members because he is one. By giving voice to the voiceless, he in turns gives voice to himself.

BT

BT is the founder and/or facilitator for several trans men support groups – Trans Men of Color, Stealth World, TransReading Group, and Trans(forming).

He has over 25 years of experience in social and human service causes, focusing his work on youth, seniors, trans people, people with disabilities, and people of color. In addition to organizing a monthly support and social group for trans men communities, he does outreach and networking with various agencies, community organizations, and members to provide housing, food, clothing, and employment resources to community members as well as providing much needed one-on-one emotional support.

BT has worked as a Service Leader for the AmeriCorps Program and has an extensive volunteer record, having lent his time as a participant, panelist, and organizer for a number of panel discussions and community conversations.

A true Arian, he values his friendships and relationships and currently resides in the Historic West End with his Partner (and greatest supporter) Cee Cee.
