Calling all creatives, actors, poets & performers!

SPARK Reproductive Justice NOW! is excited to announce that we are NOW accepting applications for our 2023 FYRE Media Justice CAMP!

The Fierce Youth Reclaiming & Empowering (FYRE) program develops the civic leadership of queer & trans youth of color and ally youth of color living in the Southeast in the Reproductive Justice movement.

The FYRE Media Justice Camp is a dynamic 4-day/3-night gathering of Southern Black women and Queer & Trans youth of color, ages 18-30, reimagining and creating media for our resilience, our lives and our communities.

This year’s FYRE Camp theme, “The Down South Monologues,” seeks to take ‘The Vagina Monologues,’ but make it BLACK, QUEER and SOUTHERN.

FYRE campers will participate in Reproductive Justice related workshops and trainings throughout the weekend. They will also spend the weekend working with SPARK staff and experts in crafting “The Down South Monologues”! They will use monologues submitted by SPARK base members prior to the camp to create this Black, Queer and Southern Monologue showcase!

“The Down South Monologues” will be performed to a public audience of SPARK base members on Saturday, July 29th.

This year’s FYRE Media Justice Camp is scheduled to take place Thursday, July 27 to Sunday, July 30 in Atlanta, GA. All travel, boarding and food expenses are covered.
