Thanks to you and our sponsors, the 2nd Annual SPARK A Change was an amazing success and a beautiful time! Every year we honor community leaders and grassroots projects that we believe exemplify our vision of a world where all people are empowered, valued, and able to make liberatory decisions about their communities, families, and lives. This time, we were honored to uplift Cortez Wright, Snap Co. and the 2016 FYRE Health Advocacy Cohort.
This community centered event was held at Hodgepodge Coffeehouse & Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia on December 9th, 2016, where we enjoyed delightful local bites from Heavenly Creations accompanied by Tending Services, and fantastic live music by Tikenya Jackson along with powerful performances by poets Khalilah Ali, Eshe Shukura and Theresa Davis. The evening’s video comes to us courtesy of Love Productions. Photography was provided by Frankie Nelson, and DJ Amari Tariq Shakur kept the tunes going throughout the night. The evening was sponsored by: Alternate ROOTS Bedroom Kandi Lambda Legal National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum National Network Of Abortion Funds Planned Parenthood Federation Of America.
