Employment Type: Part-Time Contract (10-15 hours per week)
Contract Period: 3 months (January – March 2026) [subject to change based on need & capacity)
Location: Atlanta, GA; Hybrid due to COVID-19 precautions; Must be located in Atlanta area to attend weekly in-office staff meetings and check-ins
Reports to: Admin, People & Culture Manager
Compensation: $22 per hour (to be paid semi-monthly)

About SPARK

Founded in 2007, SPARK Reproductive Justice NOW (SPARK) builds and strengthens the power of our communities and a Reproductive Justice movement that centers Black Women and Queer, Trans and Gender Diverse Youth of Color in Georgia and the South. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, we have fostered a dynamic, collaborative model of advocacy, leadership development, collective action, and discourse that creates change and impact for Black women and queer people’s struggles for reproductive justice.

SPARK serves as an entry point and leadership pipeline for new social justice leaders, and a political home for Black women and young people, centering Black queer women, trans folx and folx living outside the gender binary. We utilize arts, culture and media to build resources for and shift narratives about our communities. SPARK engages in power building through grassroots organizing, advocacy, knowledge-building, and political development of its base and members in Georgia and across the US South.

Position Overview

SPARK Reproductive Justice NOW! (SPARK) is seeking a part-time, contract People & Operations Support Associate to support our administrative infrastructure. This role is essential to SPARK’s ability to maintain smooth and sustainable operations. This person will assist with essential support functions that keep our team and systems running efficiently.

This is a part-time, contract position requiring approximately 10–15 hours per week. Compensation is $22.00 per hour. This is a hybrid position; applicants must be based in Atlanta, GA.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative & Office Support

  • Assist with daily office operations, including answering calls, managing correspondence, and organizing files.
  • Schedule meetings, manage calendars, and prepare meeting materials.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, including bookings and itineraries, as directed.
  • Monitor and restock office supplies; assist with placing orders and maintaining budget records.
  • Help organize internal and external events, meetings, and retreats.
  • Maintain up-to-date contact lists, distribution lists, and organizational records.
  • Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and other administrative documents.
  • Assist with vendor communications and track contracts or agreements as directed.
  • Maintain filing systems for contracts, compliance documents, and operational records.
  • Maintain the equipment inventory and keep track of equipment requests

People & Culture (HR) Support

  • Track key dates (birthdays, anniversaries, review deadlines) and assist with acknowledgments.
  • Support with team-building activities and other strategic gatherings
  • Respond to basic employee questions regarding policies and procedures, escalating as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling professional development and training sessions (when assigned).
  • Payroll support within Gusto, including but not limited to reviewing timesheets, sick time, PTO, and cross referencing with the SPARK calendar to ensure they match

Compliance & Risk Management Support

  • Assist with tracking deadlines for reports, contracts, and organizational filings.
  • Track contract and agreement timelines; ensure documentation is current.
  • Provide administrative support in responding to urgent operational needs or crises.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support for the organization
  • Support administrative tasks such as document management, scheduling, and correspondence
  • Assist with vendor management and office supply procurement
  • Support recordkeeping and internal filing systems (Google Drive, Box, etc.)
  • Support logistics for team meetings and events
  • Assist with organizing digital and physical office space
  • Help maintain an organized, clean, and stocked virtual and physical office environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of administrative, clerical, or office support experience (nonprofit experience preferred).

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, etc.).
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, Calendar, etc.)
  • Experience with virtual tools and platforms (e.g., Asana, Box, Zoom, Slack)
  • Commitment to SPARK’s mission and values, with cultural humility and collaborative spirit.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with HR support functions and compliance processes.
  • Experience coordinating events or managing logistics.
