The Leaux Down

The Leaux Down is a space for real conversations, shared experiences, and genuine connection. Created by SPARK’s Community Organizer, Leaux, this space is about sitting down with people, getting to know them beyond what we see on the surface, and hear the stories that have shaped who they are and the work they do. It’s about slowing down, being present, asking questions, and making room for conversations that help us learn something new about each other and ourselves.

The Leaux Down is for the curious, the creatives, the community builders, and anybody who wants to learn, grow, and feel connected to the people around them. It’s an opportunity to highlight the voices, knowledge, and lived experiences that deserve to be heard, especially those that don’t always get the space they deserve. We hope that every conversation leaves our audience with something to think about, a new perspective, or a deeper appreciation for somebody else’s story. At the end of the day, it’s about community, learning from one another, and making space for all of us to show up as we are.

Episode 1
In the first episode of The Leaux Down, Leaux sits down with Lyte, the photographer, to talk about reproductive justice and what it really means to make space for everybody in the movement. They get into queering reproductive justice, the importance of recognizing intersex experiences, and what gets lost when certain bodies and lived experiences are left out of conversations about bodily autonomy, reproduction, and liberation.

Their conversation is about more than theory. They talk about the importance of community, the gaps we still need to address, and what it looks like to build a movement where all of us are seen, heard, and included. It’s an honest conversation about challenging the way we’ve always done things and imagining a reproductive justice movement that truly reflects the people it’s supposed to serve.
